The SPNKK ecological and cultural restoration project has been important for us because the forests are the roots of our culture and life. Without forests, our lives have less meaning. The project has provided an opportunity for us men, women and youth to reflect on the importance of our forests, especially now that the trees, fruit, birds, and other wild animals which we lost to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo are beginning to return to our community forest.
